Hello Everyone,
This is Abhishek, I am a Cyber Security student, a constant learner and an independent security researcher, passionate to utilize solid computer engineering background, and cyber security skills to ensure safety in the cyber space.
Rather getting into the technical stuff, I will make it simple and easily understandable for anyone.
With the advancement in the technology, the cyber space is growing, along with the threats to the security are also growing. So nowadays Cyber Security is a basic thing for everyone to be aware of, not a choice but a necessity.
Just we have seen during this pandemic, every business has been shifted to the online mode. So, there is a vast scope in this field, even if you see it as career option.
You might have heard the term Hacker several times and the perception most people get is of a guy sitting on a computer wearing a hoodie. But to be more precise a hacker is the one who breaks into a computer system. The motive can be either good or bad.
Bad motives are like stealing data or destroying the systems, that is completely illegal, I would never prefer anyone to go for such activities.
Hacking can also be done for ethical reasons, such as trying to find software vulnerabilities, that they can be fixed and ultimately which helps the system to become more secure.
Why did I started Hacking :
I believe in doing, whatever excites me, whatever makes me happier, everything else follows.
The strong obsession for technology led me here. It was too tempting back in the days watching hackers in the movies.
And of course the money at the end, is the biggest source of motivation.
Solving the different hacking challenges is lot more fun as I break into the systems. It’s like a feeling of victory, that gives me a big rush of dopamine.
How I make Money doing this:
Being an Ethical Hacker, I look for the vulnerabilities(the weakness that can be exploited) in the applications and report them to developers so they can fix them and secure the application before any malicious hacker possibly find the bug and exploit the system for any personal gains that could be too damaging for the organization.
As a reward the company pays me some money, as per the criticality of the bug. The more damage vulnerability can cause, higher will be the reward.
There is no limit how much you can earn from this. It can be anything, from a little to a million. We call it getting bounties, for hunting bugs and the process as Bug Bounty Hunting.
I will be sharing my findings, explaining the process how I performed and the tools I use. Only those that companies will allow me to disclose, so stay tuned for the upcoming articles.
The Hackers Community :
I am heartily thankful to the hackers community.
Whatever I learn is all from the community, the blogs written by successful hackers, some videos available on Youtube, Hacktivity on Hackerone.
The community is too helpful, they keep on sharing the learning resources. I reach out to them in twitter and they surely help in their free time.
Anyone who would like to get into Hacking :
Be curious to learn. It’s tough in the beginning, but the process is full of fun and excitement.
Aspiring bug bounty hunters require knowledge of computer networking, get familiarized with web technologies, hacking techniques and stay updated to the latest developments in the cyber security.
I will be adding the complete mind-map with the helpful resources in the coming days.
